Thermoplastic coating on architectural metalwork is increasingly specified by architects for public access locations in which “warm to touch” and DDA requirements are needed.
Powdertech are approved applicators of the Plascoat range of thermoplastic powders. They are available in a range of 16 of the most popular RAL colours to contrast with background materials and have a smooth, satin finish offering a tough yet “soft” coating.
Plascoat is resistant to stress cracking, detergents, salt spray and typical airborne pollutants. It has good abrasion and impact resistance. Plascoat can be applied to aluminium, mild steel and galvanized steel.
Powdertech offer a full range of preparations for all applications. For internal applications metal is prepared by shot blasting to BS EN ISO 14920 SA 2 ½ to achieve a superior level of adhesion.
For external use, metal is galvanized, followed by suitable pre-treatments for external applications.
