Powdertech Group Powdertech Bicester
technical plant information

With a modern factory built to work to maximum efficiency, we are able to offer a comprehensive service to both the architectural and automotive markets.

Our capacity for all market sectors is 4000mm x 1500mm x 500mm. Material is jigged / loaded to ensure complete separation through the pre-treatment process, including the on-line drying operation, and to reduce handling after pre-treatment.

The powders we use are generally Syntha Pulvin architectural grade polyester, with a range of bonded metallic colours held in stock, but we also have many other powders available from special effects. We operate four independent coating lines, with automatic or manual application of powder using Gema spray equipment.

In association with our major powder supplier, our quality system is independently audited on a regular basis and our quality records are available for inspection at any time.

Our process meets DIN EN 12206-1: 2004 Coating of aluminium and aluminium alloys for architectural purposes (replaces BS6496) and our quality management system is approved to BS EN ISO 9002: 1994 for the coating of non-ferrous and ferrous materials.

Quality is important to us and so a set of four aluminium test panels is pre-treated and powder coated every four hours of production; the coating is then tested in our laboratory for adhesion, curing, flexibility, and quality of pre-treatment.
